James S. Barron, PE
President / Geotechnical Engineer
As the fouder of B&A, Jim has over 40 years of geotechnical and environmental engineering and management experience. As principal owner, Jim is responsible for all aspects of company operations and services provided, including geotechnical engineering services for both private and public projects.
Jim received his B.A. in Physics from SUNY Geneseo in 1975 and his BS in Civil Engineering from Clarkson College of Technology in 1977. Jim received his Master of Geotechnical Engineering in 1979 from Cornell University.
Jim holds a professional engineering license in New York State.

Andy Camping, PG
Senior Geologist
Andy has been at B&A for over 20 years. Initially as a field technician, Andy has become a senior consultant.
Andy’s duties include overseeing field and laboratory procedures, supplies and equipment involved in geotechnical investigations and special inspections projects; compilation and interpretation of laboratory and field data; supervision and management of laboratory soil/rock evaluation and classification, special inspection practices, Crosshole Sonic Logging techniques for deep foundations, probe-inclinometer testing of slope failures, site preparation (i.e. test boring layout and survey), and environmental soil / water sampling and studies.
Andy received his B.S. in Geology from the University at Buffalo. Andy is licensed as a Professional Geologist in the State of New York and is an active member of the Buffalo Association of Professional Geologists.

Dan Barron, PE
Geotechnical Engineer
Dan has nearly two decades of experience in deep-foundation design and construction. After earning an M.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University at Buffalo in 2016, Dan worked at the NYS DOT as a Project Engineer.
Dan duties at B&A include project acquisition, design and construction consulting.
Dan also earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Clarkson University in 2010. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Staate of New York.

Joseph Colletti, PhD
Geotechnical Engineer
Joe is responsible for geotechnical designs, construction submittals, and special inspection and material testing management.
Joe earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University at Buffalo in 2019. Joe is also an EIT in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

John Monell, GISP
UAV and Geospatial Scientist
John combines multiple learned skills and experiences to deliver an exceptional work product to B&A clients. Always on the cutting edge, he is able to marry the latest available technologies to projects, resulting in time and budget savings for B&A clients.
His latest endeavor with UAVs and laser scanning services combines all the skills he has developed over the years at GHD and now with B&A.
With over 30 years in the service industry, he has developed a strong sense of loyalty that he passes along to B&A’s many clients and his co-workers.

Brad Smith
Laboratory and Field Manager
Brad is one of the hardest workers at B&A. Responsible for day-to-day field and lab operations, Brad has a wide-breadth of the local geology, stromwater inspection, construction, and material-testing best practices.
